The Role
As a trainee project engineer, you will work closely with our experienced Project Engineers to support the design, coordination, and delivery of Voice Alarm (VA) and Emergency Voice Communication (EVC) systems. You will gain hands on experience across all stages of the project life cycle from quote and project documentation to developing system designs whilst coordinating with internal teams, suppliers and clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Engineering Voice Alarm and Emergency Voice Communication solutions based on client specifications and project requirements.
- Creating system diagrams, rack layouts and wiring schematics using StarDraw (CAD).
- Manage projects from start to finish, coordinating with internal departments, suppliers and customers.
- Liaise directly with our customers to ensure smooth project delivery and excellent service.
- Liaise with our Systems department and Sales.
- Assist with factory acceptance tests (FATs) to facilitate project sign offs.
- Provide updated information on historical projects.
- Occasional site visits.
- Any other duties as required.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in electronic engineering. They will be confident and organised, with excellent communication skills and consistently produce high quality work. They should be able to work independently but also be part of a team and enjoy a challenge.
Must have:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional telephone manner.
- The ability to manage tasks to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Strong numeracy skills and good attention to detail.
- An understanding of CAD packages, StarDraw training will be given.
- Computer Literacy (Excel and Word proficiency essential).
- Understanding of BS5839 & EN54
The Package
- Salary dependent on experience.
- 35 Hours per week (Monday to Friday).
