Charity Partnerships

Baldwin Boxall believe in trying to make the world a brighter place by supporting local, national, and international charities and worthy causes.

One of the ways we do this is through collaborating with organisations that share our values. This is nowhere more evident than with our charity partners who we support together with our team and customers, to make a positive difference.

From innovative fundraising initiatives to volunteering days, find out how we continue to support worthy charitable partnerships.

Sustainability Group and Charity Selection Process

The sustainability group at Baldwin Boxall, comprising of representatives from each department throughout the business, plays a crucial role in our charity selection process. Each member proposes three charities: one national and two local. The entire staff then votes to decide the charities we will support for the year.

This inclusive approach led to the selection of Cancer Research UK, WOLO Foundation, and Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare as our 2024 charity partners. This collaborative effort ensures that our charitable activities resonate with our team and make a meaningful impact in our community.

Charity Partnerships

Supporting Worthy Causes

Over the years, Baldwin Boxall has supported many charities close to our hearts and we continue to do so striving to make the world a brighter place.

Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading independent charity dedicated to cancer research.

Their mission is to save lives through research, influence, and information. By funding groundbreaking research and advocating for policy changes, they aim to reduce cancer deaths and improve the lives of those affected by cancer. Their work spans all cancer types and focuses on early detection, treatment advancements, and prevention strategies.

Sadly, we know all too well that Cancer touches many lives. This includes our colleagues, friends, and their families. Baldwin Boxall actively supports Cancer Research UK and we actively participate in as many charitable events supporting the cause as possible. It is our way of honouring those who have battled cancer and supporting the ongoing research that brings hope to so many.

All funds raised from these events directly contribute to life-saving research, helping to improve survival rates and the quality of life for cancer patients worldwide.

Elephant Pumps in Africa

Elephant Pumps in Africa scheme

Baldwin Boxall knows that keeping our team hydrated is vital to helping them perform at their best. As a result, we have directly supported the installation of a new water well in Africa.

Our unique relationship with AquAid has also given our company the opportunity to help those less fortunate than ourselves and with each purchase, an automatic donation is made to The Africa Trust.

These funds are used to build Elephant Pumps, based on a 2,000 year old Chinese design that the CEO of The Africa Trust adapted to make it stronger, more durable and made and maintained using materials that are locally available in remote rural sub-Saharan African communities.

Our Elephant Pump has now been installed in Africa on our behalf and it will be a much needed source of clean and fresh drinking water for many. The Baldwin Boxall name is proudly displayed on our well along with our slogan.

Our slogan was carefully chosen after asking our team for suggestions. Dean, our Stores Manager, then suggested we find out the location of where our pump was to be installed in order that we could then thoughtfully translate the slogan into the local language. Incredibly and by astonishing coincidence, Dean was happens to have been born in the very same local area, which is Manicaland, a province in the North Eastern highlands of Zimbabwe.

Translated, our slogan reads:

“Water for you all from us at Baldwin Boxall”

AquAid has constructed over 8,000 Elephant Pumps across Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi and Liberia; and has donated over £17 million to charity. We wish them continued success with all their charity projects.

Over the years, Baldwin Boxall has supported many charities close to our hearts and we continue to do so striving to make the world a brighter place.
