COVID19 Statement

Baldwin Boxall’s statement in regard to this virus outbreak.

Update August 2020

During these challenging times, it has been Baldwin Boxall’s emphasis to fully support our employees, their families and our customers to ensure we operate in safe environments.

The Directors have implemented new working practices enabling us to become COVID Secure. These measures include improved hygiene, home working, where possible, and social distancing which allow us to continue to provide full support to our customers.

We do not envisage any disruption to the supply of our equipment at present but do encourage customers to place purchase orders in good time to ensure acknowledged delivery dates of equipment fit in with their requirements.

We will continue to evaluate the evolving COVID situation and take such actions as we feel necessary to enable us to minimise disruptions to our customer requirements.

February 2020

Although we manufacture in the UK the majority of electronic components are manufactured in China. We have excellent long standing relationships with our supply chain which gives us the benefit of receiving the latest information on any supply issues that may be impending.

The Coronavirus is starting to have a small effect on the electronic component distribution market and a few components are being acknowledged to us on longer than normal lead times. To mitigate this issue at Baldwin Boxall we are proactively:

  • Purchasing affected components in larger quantities so the stock is either held on our stock or with our supplier in their UK warehouse.
  • Using PCB suppliers with UK-based manufacturing facilities to cover any supply issues that may occur from their Far East division.
  • Holding healthy Finished Goods stock in our UK warehouse to meet demand.
  • Adjusting stocking polices on affected components for early MRP/procurement capture.

Based on the above points the Coronavirus is not affecting the supply of Baldwin Boxall products into the market place and do not envisage this happening in the short term. However, to mitigate any lead time issues we always encourage customers to place purchase orders in good time to ensure acknowledged delivery dates of equipment fit in with our customers’ requirements.
