Regular system maintenance by qualified engineers is not only essential, it is a requirement in accordance with BS5839-8 (Voice Alarm) and BS8539-9 (Emergency Voice Communication). It also helps ensure that voice alarms and emergency voice communication systems are kept fully functional in preparation for such emergencies.

Baldwin Boxall can provide voice alarm system servicing, commissioning and system maintenance including routine inspections in accordance with BS5839-8 & BS5839-9.

  • British Standard compliant maintenance services – BS5839-8 for PAVA and BS5839-9 for EVC.
  • Comprehensive PAVA and EVC maintenance checklists detailing the compliant BS references.
  • Enhanced maintenance services covering all additional manufacturer recommendations.
  • Faults that cannot be immediately rectified, will be diagnosed to ascertain what is required – leading to a cost-effective return visit to site to carry out the final rectification work.

PAVA Maintenance Required Activities in Accordance with BS5839-8

BS5389 Pt8 Activities Carried Out 6 Monthly

Scheduled attendance by a Baldwin Boxall engineer to conduct system inspection and provide Certificate of Compliance to BS5839-8.

The following activities must be completed on a 6-month basis. This includes all PAVA rack locations and control equipment locations.

BS5389 Pt8 - Activities Carried Out 12 Monthly

Scheduled attendance by a Baldwin Boxall engineer to conduct system inspection and provide Certificate of Compliance to BS5839-8.

Annual maintenance of PAVA / Voice Alarm systems includes a range of 6-month core checks. All aspects of the needs of the system are taken into consideration during the annual service.

The following activities must be completed on a 12-month basis. This includes all PAVA rack locations and control equipment locations.
