Trailwalker Challenge 2019

The trailwalker challenge is a team event in which teams of four aim to cover 100 kilometers across the South Downs and raise money for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust charities in the process.

Production director, Bob Schulz, and his teammates aimed to complete the walk in 19 hours and set off across the Downs at 6am on Saturday 21st September, full of energy and spurred on by the huge £1,700 the team had raised for charity.

The first 30 miles went without a hitch and the team were on track to complete the walk in 19 hours, as planned. However, a knee injury for one team member at mile 42 meant the team were down to just three members. Another team member started to hobble towards the end but the team were able to cross the finish line together.

A total of 23 hours and 10 minutes was the final finish time for the team. Bob commented “It was the hardest thing I have ever done and I am so pleased that I completed it.”

The team finished at 5:10am on Sunday morning and went home for a well deserved rest!
