A voice alarm system must always have a fully functional battery backup. The VIGIL3 voice alarm system is equipped with high-quality batteries designed to provide reliable backup for up to five years. In the event of a mains power failure, these batteries will support the system for at least 24 hours in standby mode and then for 30 minutes at full operational capacity.

For specifications requiring longer battery support, the VIGIL system can be customised to meet those needs. Our project managers calculate battery requirements and include them in the system design process.

Replacement Batteries

To ensure the continued reliability and certification of your VIGIL voice alarm system, it is crucial to replace the batteries at least every five years with Baldwin Boxall approved batteries. Using unapproved batteries can compromise system performance and invalidate EN54-16 certification, as other batteries have not been tested to meet the stringent requirements of EN54-4 when used in Baldwin Boxall systems.
