Meet Hanna Kniazhkovska, Accounts Assistant
Hanna joined the Baldwin Boxall team at the end of 2024 and is a great addition to our accounts team where her role varies from day to day, which she believes allows her to learn and grow in a very positive way.
What does your job look like on a day-to-day basis?
I’m responsible for bank reconciliations, responding to emails and handling any queries from suppliers or customers. Depending on the time of the month, I could be busy with different accounts reports, or assisting with month-end processes. No two days in accounting are the same. The more I learn and work, the broader my horizons become. Numbers aren’t just figures – they represent opportunities, hidden answers and a bigger picture waiting to be uncovered.
What was your first job?
I was a sales assistant in a supermarket and was in charge of the sweets section. It was a summer job after my final school year – I wanted to earn some money to fund a trip to Lviv and buy a make up powder!
Are there any interesting facts about yourself that you’d like to share?
I used to be a soloist in a dance and singing group when I was a child. Many years have passed since, but I’m still the lead singer during my private car concerts whilst I’m driving!
In my spare time…
I enjoy painting by numbers, going for runs on sunny days and reading. I also love editing short travel videos to capture special memories with my family and friends.
What can’t you live without?Â
A plan! I feel lost when I don’t know what I’m doing or where I’m heading. Staying busy keeps me motivated. Even slow steps can lead to big changes – the key thing is to keep moving.
Where would you like to travel to?
Everywhere! I love travelling – it gives me energy and inspiration. Travel changes your perspective in ways money can’t measure. My current dream? A carefree day on the white sandy beaches of the Dominican Republic.
What building would you like to be locked in overnight?
Anywhere, as long as it’s warm with no spiders! I can’t stand cold and damp spaces. Even a place without internet would actually be an advantage – it would be great to have a little detox from social media and the news.
What would you do if you were Prime Minister for the day?
I would speak to ordinary people, listen to their real needs and try to take practical steps to support them.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
As my Granny always told me: “Nothing comes to those who do nothing.”
What is the best advice you would give?
Do your best, don’t give up and one day, your hard work will be recognised and appreciated.
Film or box set – what are you watching now?
I’m watching The Day of the Jackal. The acting is brilliant and the storyline draws you in straight away. Eddie Redmayne, the main character, is a very talented actor and the soundtracks are just amazing.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
Life itself and the kind of life I don’t want to live. It inspires me to keep growing, learning and making mindful choices.
