Bob Schulz, Manufacturing Director at Baldwin Boxall
A typical day looks like this…
“Day to day, my job is incredibly varied from dealing with manufacturing and general business enquiries through to long term strategic projects that can run for many months.”
How long have you worked for Baldwin Boxall?
I’ve worked at Baldwin Boxall for over 25 years now.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of work, I really enjoy keeping fit by running, going to the gym, rucking, hiking and kayaking. I also enjoy listening to audio books, watching films and enjoying time spent with family and friends in a country pub!
What was your first job?
I worked as a production assembler building high end loudspeakers for Spendor Audio in Hailsham.
What is one thing you would change about the industry you work in?
Based on the fact that voice evacuation is proven to get people to take action and vacate a building quicker than a standard klaxon alarm and thus save lives, I would like to see it become mandatory in settings such as schools, colleges, residential blocks/towers etc.
If you weren’t doing what you are doing now, what would you be doing?
I would be a sound engineer.
Film or box set – what are you watching now?
Dark Matter, on Apple TV.
Where would you like to time travel to?
I’d go to the Jurassic period, to play fetch with a T-Rex!
What can’t you live without?
A cold crisp beer…
Sorry, I mean my wife, two lovely children, family and close friends!
What building would you like to be locked in overnight?Â
Harrods food hall.
What would you do if you were Prime Minister for the day?Â
I would implement a mandatory 4 day working week 😊
What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
You are what you eat.
What is the best advice you would give?
Focus on the things in your life that you can directly control of influence. Life is too short to focus on concerns that you have no control over, it is a waste of your energy.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
Olivia, my daughter.
