Employee Spotlight: Marek Gottfried

Marek Gottfried

Meet Marek Gottfried, Commissioning Engineer

Marek joined the commissioning team in June 2023 and assists his fellow colleagues with the commissioning and maintenance of Baldwin Boxall systems up and down the country.

No two days the same

“Most of my work is outside of the factory, doing maintenance and commissioning on our range of products. My colleagues and I work in London and many other places around the country.”

In my spare time…

“I really enjoy doing DIY projects in my home and I’m also not scared to fix up my car. I bought my first motorcycle when I was 14 years old and that sparked a lifelong interest and I have been repairing and working on motorcycles since then.
I moved to the UK in 2006, after what was initially supposed to be a two month trip – one month working and the next sightseeing. My plan is now long overdue and I decided to stay – I now have a family, house and great friends and feel very settled here.”

What was your first job?

I started working as a waiter.

If you weren’t in this job, what would you be doing now?

I would probably be working as a bus driver.

What can’t you live without?

My family and Polish food.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

The best way to predict your future is to create one.

Film or box set – what are you watching now?

Yellowstone
The Office US.
