Mud, Sweat, and Cheers!!!
The Boggy Bunch Smash the 5K Pretty Muddy Race for Life, Raising an amazing total of £5,870!
Wow, what a fantastic day! The Baldwin Boxall crew, aka the “Boggy Bunch”, gathered at Stanmer Park, Brighton on Saturday 29th June 2024 for the ultimate mud-splattered adventure – the 5K Pretty Muddy Race for Life.
Spoiler Alert: All that prep work and training totally paid off. They smashed it!
Conquering the Course
The team faced some wild obstacles on the course, which took participants through fields and woodlands, covering five kilometres of challenging cross-country terrain. Highlights included the final giant inflatable slide with a pit filled with water and, of course, lots of glorious mud. They completed the course in approximately an hour and 15 minutes (give or take a few muddy moments). But that’s not all – they raised an impressive £5,135, plus £635 in Gift Aid, for Cancer Research, making them the top fundraisers in their heat!
A Team Effort
A huge shout out to everyone who participated, especially Rick, the Boggy Bunch’s official photographer, who not only snapped some epic photos but also completed the course himself. A massive thank you to everyone who donated, and to Olivia Schulz, who came along despite undergoing treatment for Leukaemia, to cheer the Boggy Bunch to the mucky finish line.
The Race for Life event saw men, women, and children of all ages and abilities come together to celebrate survivors, and those undergoing treatment, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fundraise for life-saving research.
Words from the Team
Nick Baldwin, Baldwin Boxall’s Sales & Marketing Director, had this to say:
“Pretty Muddy was an absolute blast. The atmosphere was amazing, everyone participating, along with our Baldwin Boxall staff and all the event volunteers, were just incredible. We intend to do the Race for Life again next year, hopefully fielding a larger team with a goal to raise even more money for this important cause.”
A Cause Worth Racing For
No matter how cancer affects us, life is worth racing for. Sadly, nearly one in two of us will get cancer in our lifetime. Race for Life has the power not only to transform lives but to save them, something to bear in mind is Race for Life has already helped double survival rates in the UK.
Cheers to the Boggy Bunch!
So, hats off to the Baldwin Boxall Boggy Bunch for getting down and dirty for a great cause!
