OmniCALL Launches: First Installations Successfully Completed

The latest addition to the Baldwin Boxall product EVC ranges, OmniCALL offers two-core, non-polarity dependent cabling and either loop or radial wiring on one system. This next-generation solution is designed to simplify installation, reduce costs and deliver unparalleled reliability, where it matters most.

Installation at Haberdasher’s Abraham Darby school and adjacent leisure centre

Haberdasher’s Abraham Darby school, located in Telford, is a coeducational secondary school teaching students from the ages of 11 through to 18. Situated on the very same campus is the leisure centre which has been adapted for all users to include those with mobility impairments, to enable safe access for all.

Installed by Protec, the refuge remotes, nine in the Academy and three in the leisure block, were designed specifically to retrofit seamlessly into the existing spaces. By utilising the sites’ current cabling infrastructure and backboxes, both systems were radially wired, keeping project costs low and minimising disruption. The system comprised these bespoke remotes, installed in both flush and surface mount formats.

Enhanced protection for peace of mind

Separate 32-way master stations in each building provide robust coverage, supporting multiple disabled refuge locations and allowing total peace of mind for staff, students and gym-goers alike. OmniCALL delivers clear and dependable communication to individuals in refuge areas whilst enabling building managers and rescue services to coordinate response activities quickly and effectively. Battery backup is incorporated as standard, ensuring continued operation in the event of a mains power failure.

Engineers applaud ease of installation

Feedback from Protec’s engineering team has been overwhelmingly positive. They reported a smooth installation process, each building completed within a single day and noted that no technical support was required.

This early success demonstrates OmniCALL’s user-friendly design and potential to reduce installation times significantly on future projects.

Nick Baldwin, Sales & Marketing Director said:

“We’re delighted to see one of the first OmniCALL installations completed so successfully. This project perfectly demonstrates how OmniCALL simplifies installation while maintaining the highest standards of reliability and performance. By enabling the use of existing cabling infrastructure and delivering a smooth, one-day installation in each building, OmniCALL is already proving its value to installers and end users alike.”
