Nick Baldwin, Sales & Marketing Director

Nick has Baldwin Boxall in his blood and has worked for the company for over 25 years overseeing the sales and marketing functions within the business. With his diverse role involving everything from marketing strategies and product development to sustainability projects, Nick’s expertise drives innovation and progress.

When he’s not shaping the future of Baldwin Boxall, Nick enjoys walking his two dogs on Ashdown Forest, playing rugby, and occasionally losing a golf ball or two. His career has taken many paths, including his early days as an acoustic engineer at concerts and festivals.

A typical day looks like this…

“My days truly do vary. From marketing strategy, team management, planning exhibitions, sustainability projects, management and sales meetings, business strategy, growth planning, product ideas and implementation, I enjoy the variety my job offers.”

How long have you worked for Baldwin Boxall?

Years and years! 25 in fact. I had loads of dark hair when I first joined, sadly most, if not all has now gone and what is left is grey! Some might say ‘distinguished’!

Hobbies & Interests

I am lucky enough to live on Ashdown Forest, so it is walking with my two lovable dogs, an English Springer Spaniel and a Sproodle, with a pub lunch to follow on a nice summer’s day.
I also have a love for Rugby, especially Harlequins, and although I no longer play, I often go to the stoop or to the Big Game at Twickenham to watch. You can also see me losing rather a lot of golf balls from time to time!

Interesting Facts

In a previous life, I worked as an acoustic engineer and during the summer months, it would entail working at concerts, festivals and raves. We were employed by either the promoter or venue to work against Environmental Health to get the gig as loud as possible! Many a great gig seen and backstage party attended! A great way to spend my early 20s, apart from the raves, as these are not my scene.

What was your first job?

As a school kid, I bottled up at our local pub, cleaned all their brass and cut the pub’s grass.

What one thing would you change about the industry you work in?

The amount of time it takes to get a product third party tested!

If you weren’t doing what you are doing now, what would you be doing?

Working outdoors, enjoying nature, so an Ashdown Forest Ranger.

Film or box set – what are you watching now?

I like both, it really depends what mood I am in. Box set has to be Brassic and I have just finished watching Outlaws, they’re both great.

Where would you like to time travel to?

Sydney, 22nd November 2003, to watch Jonny Wilkinson’s drop goal!
